The SAT is a college readiness test preparing high school students for their start of college.

The junior class and a select group of seniors at John Marshall High School will be taking the SAT for free this year, in place of a state standardized test.

John Marshall High School Principal Cassie Porter believes the test will benefit all students taking it. “This will give some students, who may not think they are college material, the opportunity to see what their test score is to see if they do qualify for scholarships and are ready to go to a four year college or even a two year college.”

Khan Academy is a free way for students to study the material for the SAT. Information can be found at khanacademy.org.

Questions can also be addressed to John Marshall High School Administration by calling 304-843-4444.
