The annual Marshall County Strings Program Summer Camp is being held this week at John Marshall High School.
The camp is designed to motivate the young musicians to continue practicing during the summer break from school. Students are participating in daily sessions where they learn new music through small group and large ensemble instruction. High school students are serving as mentors to younger students.
The week culminates with two concerts on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the JM Senior Commons. Elementary students perform at 11:30 am and secondary students perform at 3:00 pm. Students will showcase their work from throughout the week. The concerts are free and open to the public.
The Marshall County Strings Program was established in 2008 and is under the direction of Shelby Genberg, Justin Jones and Alex Talkowski.
