The John Marshall Marching Monarchs performed on television Tuesday evening during the 6th annual WTRF 7 Sports Zone High School Kickoff Show.
The band was invited to play on the program as a sound track before and after commercial breaks. The band’s performance also kept patrons at Quaker Steak & Lube entertained while the viewers at home watched advertisements on ABC Ohio Valley.
JM Band Director Tracey Filben appreciates Channel 7 has offered her students this unique experience for the past five years. “This tradition has become a great way for us to kick off a new football season,” explained Filben. “The band members enjoy being able to display their talents to a larger audience.”
The talented Marching Monarchs will perform during all five JMHS varsity home football games. Their halftime show incudes classic rock hits and features the following tunes: Kashmir, Roundabout, Beth, which spotlights senior trumpet soloist Madi Blake, and Rock Me Tonight. The 2019 Field Commander is senior Brayden Snider and Drumline Captain is junior Hannah Lynch.
JM Head Varsity Football Coach Jason Willis also appeared on the broadcast along with players and cheerleaders from John Marshall High School and Cameron High School.
