The 9th annual Marshall County Schools Social Studies Fair took place on Friday at Cameron High School.
Students in third through eighth grade from Cameron Elementary, Center McMechen Elementary, Glen Dale Elementary, Hilltop
Elementary, Sherrard Middle School and Cameron High School competed in two divisions, each featuring nine different categories.
There were 100 project entries, with nearly 150 students participating. While an overall winner isn’t named, a record-setting number of students earned a perfect score from the judges. Those 12 students include Jackson Bonar, Madison Bowman, Emily Butler, Chase Fromhart, Connor Fromhart, Emma King, Alaina Lucey, Allison McGraw, Devan Schrack, Ashlynn Vantassell, Lillian Williams and Zoe Zervos.
Individual winners and group winners in each category will compete against students from Hancock, Brooke, Ohio and Wetzel counties during the Regional Social Studies Fair on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Sherrard Middle School.
Regional winners from all over the state will go head-to-head at the West Virginia State Social Studies Fair on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Charleston Civic Center.
