Marshall County Schools
Digital Learning Centers
The ultimate teaching and learning classroom can be
found throughout Marshall County Schools. We had the need and the
desire to afford our teachers and students with a rich interactive environment
with every possible technology resource to impact teaching and learning.
Our Digital Learning
Centers are configured to give
instructors and students the latest in presentation and interactive technologies,
the true 21st Century Classroom environment. Marshall County, not
only the first in the state to design this learning rich environment, but
also the first to aggressively pursue its installation, now has 72 complete
DLCs with a total of 92 being planned by the end of this school year.
The Marshall County Board of Education is equipped with 4 complete DLC
installations available for professional development. Visiting presenters
are requested to view the presenter requirements by clicking HERE.
Each DLC installation and configuration consists of:
-
High-end teacher PC with networked printer
-
T-1 Internet Speed
-
Ceiling mounted data projection
-
AverVision Document Camera
-
Wireless 77 inch Numonics Interactive Whiteboard
-
Surround Sound System with 5 speakers/sub-woofer, DVD,
VCR, and TV Cable where available
-
AB Tutor student PC monitoring (in labs)
-
Concealed cabling for a totally clean installation
All DLCs are installed by a crew of qualified county maintenance
craftsmen who are skilled electricians and carpenters as well as being
qualified to install networks and ethernet cabling. Each teacher/classroom
that receives a DLC must undergo staff development provided by the county
director of instructional technology programs. Our DLCs are found
in every part of the curriculum in the county from Pre-K to Vocational
and Special Education.
