School of Excellence
In August, 1999, Cameron Elementary School
was recognized as a "WEST VIRGINIA SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE," by the West Virginia
Department of Education. Recognition requires exemplary programs
addressing the following: Student Focus and Support, School Organization
and Culture, Challenging Standards and Curriculum, Active Teaching and
Learning, Professional Community, Leadership and Educational Vitality,
School - Family - Community Partnerships and Indicators of Success.
Cameron Elementary is one of four schools in Marshall County to receive
such high honors. Pictured at the awards banquet are: (left) our
principal, Mr. Simms and our Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education,
Mr. Wood and (right) our committee members who developed the application
document.
