Title I Information
Cameron Elementary School
Cameron Elementary
has had a Schoolwide program for the past nine years. Schoolwide programs
address the educational needs of children living in impoverished communities
with comprehensive strategies for improving the whole school so every student
achieves high levels of academic proficiency. Schoolwide programs create
new opportunities for school professionals to use multiple programs and
funding sources to transform teaching and learning for every child, especially
for those at greatest risk of school failure. They can use allocated funds
to increase the amount and quality of learning time. In this way, they
can embrace a high-quality curriculum, according to a comprehensive plan
that ensures children meet the state's challenging academic standards.
Cameron Elementary's Title I program has three full-time
teachers, Reading and Math specialists. They coordinate a program
designed to meet the needs of children and parents, sponsoring the following
activities:

Family Activity Nights
Reading Counts
Books For Babes
Kindergarten Registration
Battle of the Books
