April just seemed to fly by! As we begin the final month of school, it is so important that the students are on the right track for 1st Grade. Although we understand with the warm weather the children are participating in outdoor activities, it is still essential that they get the proper rest and come to school alert and attentive. Please make sure to check the calendar of events printed in this newsletter for the end of the year activities and events.

During the month of November, the Kindergarten students participated in many exciting activities. Some students and their families took part in the Star Watch and the Portrait Night. The Grandparents Day program and classroom visits were a huge success. During American Education Week the students had the opportunity to be read to by various readers throughout the community. We would like to thank all of these individuals for giving of their time and talent.With December approaching,comes the excitement of Christmas. While we are aware of the excitement this brings, we are going to try our best to keep the children in their daily routines. Please continue to check your child's folder daily for homework assignments and completed classroom work.
Kindergarten students brought home their 1st. Progress Report last week. Please sign the envelope and return to school as soon as possible. The Kindergarten classes recently visited the Fire Station. They went through the Smoke House and were taught the proper way to exit a burning building. We completed our unit on Fire Safety with many fun activities. We would also like to thank PTK for the boo-tiful treats that they provided for the Halloween party.Please review with your child the work that they bring home each day in their folders. Make sure that your child is being supervised with homework activities. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
OCTOBER
2011
October will begin with a field trip to Simmon's Farm in McMurray, PA scheduled for Thursday the 6th. The trip will include a hayride, a hay maze, a petting zoo, an apple and a cup of apple cider for each child. We will walk through a pumpkin patch and pick the perfect pumpkin to bring back to our classroom. We would like to thank the PTK for providing the funds for the trip.
We also plan to enjoy and learn with our new i-pads. We were very excited about using them in class.
What a "beary" good first week we had in Kindergarten. We did many exciting things. We took a tour of the school while looking for Corduroy's lost button, sang bear songs, read numerous bear stories, and ended our week with a teddy bear picnic. Mrs. Angalich and Mrs. Mozingo would like to thank the parents for filling out and returning all needed forms. If you have not sent back the forms, please do so as soon as possible. Please continue to check your child's folder and agenda daily. . Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
