Tenth Annual
Back-to-School Fun Fair
at the Mollohan Center (inside the old Penitentiary)
July 6, 2012

Last year alone, more than 1,030 backpacks were given to students!! |
Every summer for the past 10 years, students from Marshall County Schools have had the opportunity to attend a "Back-To-School Fun Fair" designed to help them prepare for the upcoming school year.
Students are offered a backpack and many free school supplies, as well as personal care items. Families are provided a wealth of information and resources from local agencies and businesses. Health, dental, and vision screenings are offered and information about required immunizations will be provided. These screenings can uncover and correct an issue that might otherwise prevent a student from being able to attend the first day of school . Families can sign up for free and reduced lunch and register children for Kindergarten. In addition to the many practical activities happening on this day, many fun activities are also planned for students. Free haircuts are also available.
Many of the funding sources that have been used in past years are no longer available. We are asking for your support to provide this service to the families in our county. Please "Adopt-A-Backpack" for a donation of $20. You can make checks payable to PERC (Parent Educator Resource Center) or Back-To-School Fun Fair and return them to the attention of Susie Baker at McNinch Primary School.
This year, the event is scheduled for July 6, 2012 at the Mollohan Center (inside the old Penitentiary). Please join us in our mission to help students begin a new school year feeling prepared, confident, and enthusiastic.
Thank you so much for your support,
Susie Baker and the Back-To-School Fun Fair Team
