Marshall County Schools recognizes the need for safety in our schools and the quality of the learning environment surrounding our students.

Our Safe School Helpline is a 24 hour messaging service.  The service is toll-free and is monitored around the clock 24 hours a day, every day of the year.  Each incoming call is monitored and in the case of a call that appears to be life endangering or an emergency situation, a person on duty at the center will immediately contact the school official you that is designated to receive HELPLINE calls.  This feature is in effect any hour of the day or night.  This provides a confidential method of reporting wrongdoing or illegal activities anytime.  The caller's name is never asked.

Every call is transcribed verbatim.   Non-emergency calls will be faxed to the designated administrator no later than the day after the call.  A computer generated randomly assigned case number is given to each caller, who is asked to call back in 3 days using that random number to see what response has been made by the school.  The system allows for the ongoing exchange of information and communication between the school and caller while protecting the anonymity of the caller.
