The importance of reading during the summer months, while school is not in session, is imperative for students to retain reading skills. Marshall County Schools has provided every student in Pre-K through 4th grade with a Scholastic “My Books Summer & Summer Express Workbook Bundle” to help prevent reading regression.

Each student has been given resources to achieve a summer’s worth of great learning. The Scholastic reading packets provide a combination of high-quality engaging books and a collection of colorful, fun-filled activities that reinforce reading, writing, phonics, grammar, math skills and more. The age-appropriate bundle includes five fiction titles, five nonfiction titles, ten think sheets, a journal, a postcard, colored pencils and a Weekly Reader Summer Express workbook.
