Cameron Elementary Holds Health Fair
Cameron Elementary students gathered for an engaging and informative school-wide Health Fair aimed at promoting wellness and raising awareness about healthy lifestyle choices. Held at Cameron Elementary School, the event featured a variety of interactive presentations led by healthcare professionals, local organizations and student volunteers.
Pre-K through 2nd grade met with Smokey Bear and learned about fire safety while 3rd through 5th grades learned about Drug Prevention with Game Changer. Along with Smokey Bear and Game Changer, the Health Fair offered students an opportunity to explore topics such as Natural Resources with DNR, tour a mobile command center, walk through an ambulance, gun safety, police dogs and food tasting. The highlight of the event was a BMX Bike Show that taught students about bike safety.
The Health Fair was a collaborative effort. It was planned by Cameron Elementary School nurse Melissa O’Donnell and supported by Cameron Elementary PT4Kids, EQT, Mason Dixon Energy Service and Williams Energy.
Plans are already underway to make next year’s event even bigger and better.
