Marshall County Students, Staff and Guardians,

Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope this letter finds you refreshed and ready for another exciting year of nurturing our students’ growth and success.  As we embark on this new academic journey, I want to highlight the goals set forth by the Board of Education, which underscore our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in education.

Goal 1: Professional Development for All Staff

This year, our foremost goal is to provide comprehensive professional development opportunities for all employees. Our focus will be on enhancing both academic outcomes and mental wellness including a positive mindset for our students, staff and community members. By investing in your professional growth, we aim to equip each of you with the tools and strategies needed to positively impact student performance in all aspects of their educational journey.

Goal 2: Increasing Student Achievement

While student achievement can be measured in various ways, the general summative assessment remains a critical benchmark at the state and national levels. Marshall County Schools has made commendable strides in this regard, and we are steadfast in our commitment to further progress. Over the summer, principals diligently identified areas for improvement and crafted targeted plans to address them. Let us continue to uphold high expectations for every student, fostering an environment where each individual can achieve their full potential.

Goal 3: Enhancing Community and Parent Involvement

Community and parent involvement are invaluable assets in our pursuit of educational excellence. This year, we are dedicated to continuing our outreach efforts through initiatives such as the Local School Improvement council showcase and the LOOK Speaker Series. Expanding upon these opportunities, our principals have collaborated with the county office to schedule engaging learning extension activities for both parents and students. By strengthening these partnerships, we can collectively enrich the educational experience and support the holistic development of our students.

As we commence this school year, I am filled with optimism and enthusiasm for the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, let us continue to uphold the values of collaboration, dedication, and student-centered learning that define Marshall County Schools.
