Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. The observance was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting.

On Wednesday, Marshall County Schools celebrated the accomplishments of the county’s school nurses and their efforts to meet the needs of today’s students by providing and advocating for quality student-centered care, including helping students stay healthy, safe and ready to learn.

School Nurse Day is celebrated once a year on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week. This year, National Nurses Week is Monday, May 6 through Sunday, May 12.
