Marshall County Schools has many different adult education classes varying from those who want to get the high school equivalency test those who want to learn about welding, mining, quilting, photography, home repair, computers, and more.  See below for more details.

FREE ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES AND TESTING:
Prepare for the High School Equivalency Test - Upgrade Skills for Employment / ASVAB / College / Tech School

Fall Registration:
August 15th – 18th 9:00 a.m.

ABE CLASS SCHEDULE:
Mondays 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Wednesdays - 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m Registration
Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

ABE classes and registration are held in the Historic Maximum Security Prison. Enter through 8th Street entrance. ABE classroom is the small blue building behind the chain link fence.

HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY TEST DATES :

Computer based testing for High School Equivalency and Pearson Vue is available every Tuesday at the Board of Education.

High School Equivalency Testing is free.  However, before taking the High School Equivalency Test, you are required to first pass the High School Equivalency Official Practice Test.

 

JOHN MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL:

BEGINNERS PHOTOGRAPHY (Room 117B) – 4 Weeks
Wednesdays 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Begins Sept. 7th / Tuition $40

WELDING  – 10 Weeks
Tuesdays 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Begins Sept. 13th / Tuition $325

Introduction to 3D printing – 5 Weeks
Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Begins Sept. 13th / Tuition $40

HOME REPAIR – 6 Weeks
Consist of basic carpentry, electric and plumbing repairs around the house.
Tuesdays 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Begins Sept. 13th / Tuition $75

BASIC BOOKKEEPING (EXCEL) – 4 Weeks
Mondays 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Begins October 3rd / Tuition $40

Classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Class size is limited. No refunds will be given after the first class. Registration is complete only after payment of tuition and/or fees. There must be sufficient enrollment in order to have classes.
