Students receiving supplies from the fair

Marshall County students participating at the Back 2 School Fun Fair

More than 1,300 students attended the 25th annual Marshall County Back 2 School Fun Fair on Wednesday inside the Moundsville Center at the former West Virginia State Penitentiary.

Marshall County students, Pre-K through 12th grade, received free school supplies for their return to school on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Nearly 50 different agencies provided free assistance to students including check-ups by the Marshall County Health Department.

The “Fun Fair” is made possible thanks to the generosity of the volunteers, Marshall County Schools, A&B Kia, Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, WesBanco and the event’s founder, Susie Baker.
