Marshall County students once again have the opportunity to showcase their artistic talent at the 44th annual Marshall County Student Art Show, currently on display at the Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex in Moundsville.
The exhibit features a variety of artwork such as paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Students participating in the annual event attend Cameron Elementary School, Hilltop Elementary School, Sand Hill Elementary School, Washington Lands Elementary School, Moundsville Middle School, Cameron High School and John Marshall High School.
Best in Show in the high school division was awarded to John Marshall’s Braylin White for the colored pencil drawing titled “Kangaroo Stringed,” Abbie Allen’s colored pencil illustration of “Violent Dog,” the graphite drawing of “B de Bellaka” by Mukunda Perez and a 3-D stoneware sculpture created by Addison Cochran labeled “Tic Tac Toe.”

The People’s Choice Award in the high school category, as voted by attendees at the opening day reception on Saturday, went to JM’s Mackenzie Church for her oil pastel dubbed “Please.” In the middle school class for People’s Choice, an award was earned by Moundsville Middle School student Dorothy Sampson for her acrylic paint entry named “Fountain.” Delaney Cumpston, a student at Cameron Elementary, obtained People’s Choice in the grade school classification for her untitled mixed media creation.
The public is invited to view the exhibit from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, at the Delf Norona Museum until Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The Marshall County Student Art Show is coordinated by Cameron High School Art teacher Amanda Jenree with assistance from students in the school’s art club. Jenree’s mother, Vickie, started the art show in 1982.
