On Thursday, March 5, 2026, via email, the WVDE stated, “All OSE days must be used before a waiver can be granted.”
However, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Marshall County Schools was notified the qualifications had evolved, and the WVDE would reopen the application so Marshall County Schools could request a waiver.
Marshall County Schools applied and received a waiver for the four days missed beyond the allotted traditional and remote learning snow days.
This means Marshall County Schools will not make up any days used prior to today, Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Any additional days missed due to inclement weather will need to be made up.
The adjustment means students will follow the original 2025-2026 academic calendar.
