Flowers

Students at Cameron High School, John Marshall High School, Moundsville Middle School and Sherrard Middle School are preparing to sell hanging baskets, vegetable plants, herbs and a variety of flowers they grew in their school’s greenhouse.

At each school in late January, students began germinating seeds for tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage and herbs. Then at the end of February, plugs were purchased and transplanted for various types of other flowers. Students ensured the proper temperature and humidity were maintained in their greenhouse and monitored the vegetation’s growth daily.
